Amber Pierce has returned with a bang sprinting to a 3rd place finish at the first annual Danbury Audi Race4Scholars Criterium benefiting WheelPassion in Danbury, CT. Pierce returned to her old form as she tackled the short half mile 4-corner course. It was an impressive rebound for the veteran rider who has been sidelined by a nagging knee injury for most of the 2014 season.
“My legs felt great and are really starting to come around. It feels so good to finally be back in the saddle racing again,” Said rider Amber Pierce. “The whole race was so well run, Duane Perkins did a phenomenal job organizing it and with 51 starters he was able to attract the biggest field of women racers on the Northeast to date. He offered an equal race distance for the men and women as well as an equal prize purse which was awesome. I had a great time and hope to race it again next year!”
Not wasting any time in the closing days of the season, Pierce looks ahead to her next races. Along with teammate Courteney Lowe she will race this weekend in the Chris Thater Memorial Criterium in Binghamton, NY. Denise Ramsden will then join forces with the two to race the Green Mountain Stage Race in Vermont.
