Photo Gallery | An Evening With Optum Pro Cycling at CLIF Bar HQ
Shortly before the first start line of the Amgen Tour of California, the team was invited to share an evening with their fans at CLIF Bar’s Headquarters in Emoryville, CA. The event was co-hosted by CLIF and Diamondback Bicycles, and many of the company’s new 2015 frames were on display. The first 150 people through the door received a free copy of Phil Gaimon’s “Pro Cycling on $10 a Day”, and the athletes and Performance Director Jonas Carney were brought on stage for a lighthearted Q&A session. At the end, one lucky fan was the recipient of a brand-new carbon fiber Diamondback road bike.
The attendees enjoyed a taco bar, free drinks, and got a close look at Diamondback’s new 2015 lineup.
They aren’t just compeititive on the bike – Eric Young, Tom Soladay, and Tom Zirbel play some 2-2 Ping Pong with a fan.

CLIF Bar’s MC went down the line, asking each athlete about their specific role on the team. Tom Soladay had one of the night’s livliest replies.
Phil Howe spoke about the company’s relationship with the team, and raffled off one of the brand’s premium Podium Equipe bikes.
