Lex Albrecht, Annie Ewart, Jasmin Glaesser, and Leah Kirchmann have amassed an impressive collection of national championships, Olympic medals, and podium performances at some of the world’s biggest races. The 10th anniversary of the Amgen Tour of California is a monumental event, but America’s top stage race will be extra memorable to Beverly, Massachusetts native Jesse Anthony, thanks to a very special bicycle. A custom painted “Boston Strong” Diamondback Podium Equipe, designed and painted to commemorate the victims of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, was Anthony’s steed in yesterday’s first stage of the tour.
